Surviving a spiritual awakening without losing your mind is not guaranteed.  Finding skilful means to navigate an awakening is crucial. With skilful means you create stability in your new more expanded state of awareness.  But many of us get stuck in the early stages of an awakening because these modern times aren’t exactly here to help us reach our greatest path of liberation for self and others. Managing an awakening is always hard in any era. But it’s especially hard these days. Let me reassure you that you do not need to feel lost, scared, or stuck.

The first few years of my awakening were absolutely miserable. I had no idea what was happening to me. I had no teacher, no map, and no reassurance I was going to be ok.  In those early years, in the hardest part of my path, I made a promise to myself that if I made it through whatever was happening, I would help others. I just knew that what was happening to me had an explanation. And whatever I could learn from my path I wanted to share with who needed it.

It’s really exceptionally touching for me to be at this point where I can hold my promise to myself, and offer this Survival Guide to whoever needs it..  You got this.  And you will be okay if you stick with the Cosmic Curriculum that comes your way. Spiritual awakenings are not random, or coincidental. Healthy cultures with intact ancient technology and traditions know this, and have practices and elders to care for us as we open. But in the dominant cultures many of us find ourselves in, we have lost our traditions and elders. What should be an experience that is at least understandable can become frightening, dangerous, lonely, and non-sensical.  This is why I made the Spiritual Awakening Survival Guide.  It doesn’t have all the answers.  But it can put some structure around your experience. To have a map is sometimes all that is needed to set us up for a great adventure.  With map in hand, you can find what you need to make it through.
