There are many different kinds of meditations. Heart meditations are the most powerful for me, because this is where we can enter connection with our true self, with our ancestors, and all life. Dropping into our hearts, we connect with the greater truth of the reality we are in. The skill to drop into my heart and chill, no matter the weather outside, has been absolutely crucial for my ability to stay afloat and functional in these current very turbulent, and even sometimes scary times.

Resting in our heart is not dropping out of reality. Quite the opposite. When I am hanging out in my mind (aka the banana factory), I am full of stories that can bring feelings of hopelessness, doubt, and feeling unable to make change in the world. When I moved my home address to my heart - through a regular heart meditation practice - I became more strong, more brave, and more functional.I had unexpected experiences when I began my heart practice. For example, I met parts of myself I had left behind, and was able to bring those parts of me back into myself. There are many secrets waiting to be found through heart meditation.

Outward liberation needs the other wing of inner liberation. For me, the heart path is the path of true liberation for all. Also, I’m much less of a strain on the resources of others when I can maintain a connection to my own heart.  What’s not to love about a mighty heart meditation?

This heart meditation is a lightly guided practice. I begin by explaining what a heart mediation is, and why a heart meditation can be beneficial to you. Following, we enter a gentle 20 minute heart practice together to expand our sense of home within ourselves.
